Medical Equipment and Supplies to help COVID-19 patients
The Paso del Norte Community Foundation recently donated $20,000 to the University Medical Center (UMC) Foundation to help in the purchase of respiratory care equipment for patients fighting COVID-19 from the COVID-19 Response Fund. The use of portable oxygen concentrators will help physicians discharge eligible patients sooner, thus shortening the hospital length of stay, which will help reduce the number of occupied beds in the hospital.
The PDN Community Foundation also contributed $50,000 for needed PPE for frontline workers at UMC and El Paso Children’s Hospital, and vulnerable residents in the outlying areas of El Paso County promotoras as part of the Reduce the Risk Campaign, from the COVID-19 Equipment and Supply Fund.
The donations were made possible thanks to generous support from corporations and foundations across Texas.
