New Internship Matching Program to Empower Nonprofits in Workforce Development

The PdNCF in partnership with Texas Mutual, Workforce Solutions Borderplex, and Microsoft, launched a new internship matching program to empower nonprofits in workforce development this summer. The program will accomplish the following goals:

  1. Enhance interns' skills through hands-on experience within nonprofit organizations.
  2. Help nonprofits integrate digital tools to improve services or operations.
  3. Increase awareness of nonprofit impact and foster new partnerships.

This program enables the PdNCF to make a significant impact by bridging the gap between academic education and real-world skills, supporting the professional growth of college students, and enhancing the operations of nonprofits.

Additionally, the program supported 5 tech hub installations at El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, Creative Kids, Books are Gems, Pro Action and Borderland Rainbow Center. The tech hubs provided the nonprofit organizations access to permanent equipment including laptops, licenses, and LinkedIn Learning opportunities for the staff and clients to leverage.

The program creates a sustainable ecosystem that empowers the next generation of professionals, promotes economic development, and strengthens our communities.
