Last week, the Paso del Norte Community Foundation was honored to celebrate the inaugural illumination of Star Ceiling (El Paso)at the El Paso Museum of Art, and it was nothing short of magical!

With the countdown led by artist Leo Villareal, City officials, and other dignitaries, Star Ceiling was illuminated on Friday, January 17th with over 14,590 energy-efficient LEDs activated by the artist in unrepeating patterns – creating a true sense of wonder. The lighting followed an afternoon of engagement by Leo Villareal with local students, museum members, and visitors, sharing his inspiration behind the installation, sparking meaningful conversations about the intersection of art, technology, and community.

The public illumination was preceded by a special event the night before to thank the donors and partners who made the installation possible.
