Wells Fargo Foundation to donate to community through El Paso COVID-19 Response Fund

The Paso del Norte Community Foundation (PdNCF) is pleased to announce that Wells Fargo Foundation has generously donated $75,000 to the El Paso COVID-19 Response Fund to support the community response to COVID-19 in El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley.

The El Paso COVID-19 Response Fund was established in partnership with the United Way of El Paso County to support nonprofit organizations serving the most vulnerable in our community – including the homeless and elderly population.

“It’s important in times of community need that we all work together,” said Alma Ortega-Johnson, Regional Bank President for El Paso and South Texas. “We’re grateful for the leadership of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation for its ability to act quickly in caring for our local residents. We hope our support provides a measure of relief as we stand with the community during this challenging situation.”

This $75,000 donation is part of the $6.25 million in aid Wells Fargo announced earlier this month to support the domestic and global COVID-19 response.

“The Paso del Norte Community Foundation is sincerely grateful for the role it plays in the community, especially during times of critical need such as what we’re experiencing right now in response to Covid-19,” said Mica Short, Vice President of Development for the Paso del Norte Community Foundation. “ Through the generous support of partners such as Wells Fargo and the El Paso community, which has shown time and time again that it comes together to help one another, PdNCF is well-positioned to provide assistance to the most vulnerable in our community by partnering with remarkable El Paso nonprofit organizations.”
