Community En Acción, a local nonprofit group of Latino business leaders, is proud to honor its co-founder, Richard Castro, with the Richard Castro Community Service Scholarship, in coordination with the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, for his dedicated service to the El Paso Community.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Castro has empowered the next generation by volunteering thousands of hours and leading various community organizations to make lasting improvements to our region. He has also initiated and sponsored numerous educational programs, establishing scholarship endowments that total more than $14 million. With the scholarship that bears his name, area high school seniors who follow in Mr. Castro's footsteps, volunteering and leading projects to improve their community will receive a hand up toward their dream of achieving a college education.
